George E. "Dean" Judd of Kansas City, MO, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003, at North Kansas City Hospital.   Mr. Judd was born  in Kansas City, KS and  attended Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kansas Junior College and the University of Kansas.

Not many , outside of his family, knew his middle name was Eldean.   However, most of his family knew him as "Dean", as well as most of his childhood and school friends.

This happy person, George, liked people and had friendships going back to his boyhood days.

He was interested in nature and always fed the birds.  He could recognize all the birds by their song.

He spent time with his Springer Spaniel dog of 16 years.   The dog was actually a registered dog but  his long, official name was shortened to"Snug". Dog Food was always kept in the car for any stray found along the road.

Photography was his hobby, which he combined with traveling, but he also loved duck hunting and just walking in the woods.

In later years, he spent free time doing crossword puzzles and reading, but he always found time for friends.

George served in the Army Air Corps 9th Air Force as an aerial photographic-gunner. He flew 65 missions over Europe including two missions on D-Day. He worked for TWA, 33 years, as Director of Office Administration. Mr. Judd was Scoutmaster of Troop 179, First Presbyterian Church in North Kansas City from 1961 to 1965 and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He also was a member of Northland Camera Club and various volunteer organizations. He served as elder and was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances E. Judd; nieces, Sue Beck, Rita Roundy and Gail Lavenburg; nephews, Chris Bryan and Christopher Lavenburg; and cousins.
